There’s constructive criticism and then there’s somebody like Jax with a personal axe to grind. There wasn’t anything in your piece, though satirical, that didn’t have a ring of truth. Sadly.
I like to think that is the best kind of satire, the one with truth. If I can weave in some facts, data, science, and evidence or have it be educational to some degree, even better. Thanks for the lovely comment and kind words!
My dear, I salute you for your level of restraint. I probably would have just carpet bombed all of this person's glaring insecurities with a well curated and biting reply that focused on all of their obvious deficiencies up to and including their micropenis and/or macro-forehead. You are so much classier than me. 😆
Thanks blue! I really appreciate the kind words, encouragement, and the hilarity in learning new word combinations :D
I do want to take criticism seriously and with an open mind. I can disagree, stand firm in position, but still be kind and have empathy. The best satire is either so close to reality that you question it, or is so absurd to be either makes you laugh, or makes you angry. Often the former is because it is funny because it is sad, and it is sad because it is true. The latter is often due to being able to recognize one's own self in the not flattering light the satire exposes.
Both give cause to pause and think, and maybe have an important conversation. Such is the tool of satire - or at least so I hope. Thank you again for your support and engagement!
